A bit more about the job  

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Java Engineer with a strong background in developing applications within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native Java applications and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions on Azure's platform.: 

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native Java applications and services in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. 

• Collaborate with architects, program managers, and other engineers to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. 

• Ensure the performance, scalability, and security of Azure-based Java applications. 

• Relational/non-relational data model design 

• Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deploying Java applications on Azure. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. 

• Stay updated on the latest Azure services and features and assess their relevance to ongoing projects. 

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. 

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies. 

This is you  

• You have a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Computer Science or related field 

• You have several years of experience as a Backend Engineer 

• You have a good hands-on experience with Java and Spring 

• You have a strong knowledge of the Azure cloud ecosystem 

• You have a good understanding of CI/CD in Azure. 

• You can work both independently and in a team environment 

• You are a team player and have strong communication skills 

• You thrive for quality and have a genuine interest about the final end-user experience 

• You enjoy writing comprehensive technical specifications 

• You are fluent in English (Dutch, German and/or French are a plus) 

In case you also bring the following, that is seen as a real plus:  

• You have some experience with .Net and C# 

• Experience as full stack engineer 

• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Cosmos DB
