About the Position 

We are looking for a motivated, customer-oriented professional to join our IT Operations team as an IT Service Desk Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for providing first-level technical support. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting office staff, developers, and external partners with their operational IT requirements. The role covers a broad spectrum of technical tasks, including diagnosing hardware and software issues, configuring devices, and maintaining infrastructure systems. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver prompt and effective 1st line IT support, resolving incidents in accordance with established SLAs. 

  • Accurately log and manage all support requests through to resolution via the Ticketing System. 

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new colleagues in multiple countries. 

  • Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, and associated peripherals. 

  • Set up and provide support for company mobile devices. 

  • Maintain workplaces and office infrastructure, including network and meeting room setups across various remote locations. 

  • Manage software installation and maintenance using MDM tools such as Microsoft Intune. 

  • Administer user accounts through Microsoft Entra-ID. 

  • Oversee permission and access management tasks. 

  • Coordinate the procurement of essential IT assets. 

  • Contribute to documentation efforts and ongoing process improvement within 1st line support. 

  • Assist in the implementation and execution of IT enhancement projects. 

  • Act proactively on information security matters in collaboration with the IT Security team. 

  • Implement changes in alignment with IT change management procedures. 

This position requires on-site presence at our headquarters in Arnhem, Netherlands, for a minimum of four days per week. 


Job requirements

This is you 

  • Completed a post-secondary (MBO) or higher qualification in IT or related field. 

  • Minimum one year of experience in a comparable role within cloud-based IT operations environments. 

  • Familiarity with IT operations concepts such as monitoring, backup, restoration, disaster recovery, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. 

  • Solid technical expertise in desktop and mobile device support, including Windows 11, MacOS, Android, iOS, and related hardware. 

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively in high-pressure situations. 

  • Collaborative team player with adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. 

  • Excellent customer service orientation and communication abilities, exhibiting a calm and professional demeanor. 

  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, with logical and efficient work practices. 

  • Able to communicate technical information clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences. 

  • Proficient in English; proficiency in Dutch, German, or French is considered advantageous. 

In case you also bring the following, that is seen as a real plus: 

  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. 

  • Knowledge of SharePoint Online and Teams setup and configuration. 

  • Familiarity with Linux in cloud-based infrastructure environments. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure administration. 

  • Administration of Jira Service Management and Confluence. 

  • Knowledge of Identity Management and Exchange Online/Office 365. 

  • Experience with MDM Solutions (Microsoft Intune, Jamf). 

  • In-depth understanding of current business computing security risks. 

  • Knowledge of networking technologies, including teleconference solutions.
