About the role

As a Power Market Analyst, you will play a key role in keeping our automated trading operations running smoothly. Your focus will be operational monitoring and supporting the continuous improvement of our trading processes.

You will:

  1. Monitor and oversee daily trading operations

  • Check and validate the outputs of our automated trading system twice per day (within regular office hours).

  • Ensure trading results, KPIs and regulatory declarations are correct.

  • Investigate discrepancies when they occur and coordinate resolution with other teams.

  • Participate in a weekend monitoring rotation (light workload; ~2 hours only if issues arise).

2. Support optimization of trading processes

  • Help maintain and improve algorithms for imbalance management, renewable generation forecasting and automated reporting.

  • Contribute ideas and data analysis to help refine our existing models.

3. Contribute to new market development

  • As Allego enters new countries, you’ll help define market requirements and operational workflows.

  • Translate business and regulatory needs into clear functional specifications for our internal development team.

  • Help shape our monitoring and trading tools as the platform evolves.

Job requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in engineering, applied mathematics, energy economics, finance, data science or a similar field.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

  • Comfortable working (and learning more about) with data (Python, SQL/MySQL, Databricks, R, Excel).

  • Able to simplify complex data flows into clear operational insights.

  • Knowledge of energy markets is considered a bonus.

Soft Skills

  • Curious, proactive, and willing to dive into operational details.

  • Team‑oriented and communicative.

  • Enjoy solving puzzles and spotting irregularities in data.

Experience

  • Some exposure to the energy sector is helpful, but motivated early‑career candidates with strong technical skills are very welcome.

  • This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow and learn in a fast‑moving domain. But some prior experience is required.
