About the Role

We are looking for a mission-driven Cloud Engineer to join our IT department. As member of the Cloud Platform & IT-Security team you are responsible for developing and maintaining of our Cloud environment. You’ll work within a skilled internal engineering team supporting the technology behind Allego’s European charging infrastructure operations.

What You Will Do

• Participate in solution design, code reviews, and technical architecture discussions

• Work with Azure DevOps to manage work items, repositories, branching, and CI/CD pipelines

• Work closely with functional consultants and internal customers to analyse requirements and translate them into clean, scalable solutions

• Break down work into deliverables and provide accurate time estimations

What You Bring

• At least 5 years expertise in Azure, and preferably also AWS

• Understanding of compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services

• Professional-level skills in IaaC tools

• Experience with designing secure, scalable, resilient cloud architectures

• Experience with pipeline design and automation with tools like Azure DevOps or others.

• Experience with virtual networks, routing, firewalls, VPNs, Load balancers, DNS

• Experience with cloud-native monitoring (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch)

• Experience with container runtime solutions like Kubernetes (AKS, EKS) and container-centric architectures

• knowledge of automation scripting and coding skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, C#) for tooling and automation

• Awareness of Cloud Cost management and FinOps principles

• Fluency in English (additional skills in Dutch, German and/or French are considered a plus)

This role is best for someone who like to work hands-on, and who likes to engage with a lot of different stakeholders, as you are the bridge between our developers and our infrastructure.
